Over New Years, 4, 000 ethnic Hmong were forcefully deported from Northern Thailand and sent back to Laos, despite a history of Hmong political persecution and human right violations at the hands of the Laos government.

The Hmong, allied with the US against the communist forces in Laos and fled the country when Communist Pathet successfully took over the government in 1975.

Thai citizens were banned from assisting Hmong refugees under threat of persecution by the government.

Over 1000 African migrants have been forcefully relocated in the south of Italy.

Riots leading to violent clashes between immigrants and cops began after "
a gang of white youths in a car fired air rifles at a group of African immigrants returning from work on farms, injuring two of them."
