Socially Engaged Buddhism in Thailand, staring...Mr. Sulak

Here's an interesting video on socially engaged Buddhism in Thailand.

Note Sulak, the articulate older Thai male. We'll be heading down to Bangkok on the 13th to stay at his hotel while we attend a Human Rights conference. The students will get a unique chance to have an exchange with him, which should be pretty interesting. Sulak is a big name in Thailand having been at the forefront of many of the recent social movements. He also been charged with lese majesty three times.

He also had a hand in the founding of the CIEE-Thaialnd program when it was first founded!
